Hello and welcome, this is The Players Meeting. Spend the next 4 minutes and 57 seconds with us and you’ll be the smartest person at league tonight.
If you missed the MCO primer, then I got you: Make it a double
Let’s get into it.
Music City Open (Silver Series)
RESULTS - 🏆 CHRIS DICKERSON & MISSY GANNON
MPO/ The winner goes by a couple of different names… Robot Chicken, Limestone Laser, and Chris Dickerson. Mr. Laser is notorious for winning in his home state of TN.
But what makes Dickerson so good there? Besides feeling at home, it’s known that limestone-filtered water gives whiskey its great flavor. That must be his secret sauce.
From highlight up-shots to out-of-position flex shots, Dickerson won his 2nd 2022 Silver Series by 3 strokes. He averaged 1060 rated golf.
Besides the clear victory, there was drama on Sunday. Jeff Spring (DGPT CEO) joined the lead card to help officiate and called Nikko Locastro on a time violation after taking 52s to throw.
It was only a warning and didn’t stop his lengthy routine from continuing. His 15ft putts still felt like he contemplated the meaning of life.
FPO/ It was a wire-to-wire win for Missy Gannon. Averaging 974 over the weekend, she beat the field by 4 strokes. This 1st win of 2022 will boost her confidence going into a quick break followed by the 1st major of the year, the Champions Cup.
STANDOUT PLAYER
Before the final round, Brian Earhart asked Lauri Lehtinen if he thought he could win this tournament. Lehtinen said, “No.”
But his final round said otherwise. Grabbing solo 3rd, Lehtinen threw the hottest round of the weekend (-12). It was the highest-rated round (1078) thrown by a European in the US since early 2020.
HIGHLIGHT
Known for guest-starring in Simon’s vlogs, Mark Chapalonis rang up the ace in round 1 hole 1.
Throw Down the Mountain (A-Tier)
RESULTS - 🏆 PAUL MCBETH
The weather was a letdown in Brooksville, FL on Saturday. The 2nd round got suspended until Sunday due to pending severe weather.
With fewer holes to grab the win, it was a clear 2 horse race between Paul McBeth and Calvin Heimburg (as expected). McBeth shot the hot round on Friday with Heimburg doing the same on Sunday.
But McBeth doesn’t like to lose and birdied the final hole to win by 1. He handed Heimburg another 1 shot loss in back-to-back weeks.
You might be wondering why McBeth plays this tournament? What’s so special about this temp course in a quarry? It’s probably because it’s on his favorite courses list.
The man knows a thing or two about good courses, so add this to your bucket list of tournaments.

👨🏫 Daddy’s Disc of the Week: Innova Toro
Few details are released about Calvin Heimburg’s new signature disc. But the buzz has been growing around this OS putter mold (Flight numbers: 4,2,1,3).
With input from Heimburg, Sexton, and Koling, the Toro can handle all the torque in the world with its slow overstability without the dump.
It looks like Big Jerm finally has the Innova Zone he’s been waiting for. He’s already gotten the 1st ace on camera with it. There’s no release date yet, but it can’t be much longer.
To hold you over, Discraft’s 2022 Tour Series discs are out in all their swirly glory. The different molds all come in ESP Swirl plastic with similar patterns.
This plastic doesn’t feel like anything else coming out of their factory. I can’t even come up with a comparable plastic. It’s really its own thing.
There’s slightly more flex to it than stock ESP, and a little extra tackiness for increased grip. There will be restocks throughout the year, but head over to the TS section to grab one for your bag today.
Random Dubs
1️⃣ Winner of April Fools: Innova for finally acknowledging the outspoken cries of fans wanting a Halo Star Polecat. The infamous 1-speed disc is typically available in DX, their baseline plastic.
But last Friday, Innova put some “DX Halo” Polecats up for sale. They looked like DX Polecats with a custom stamp including an angel’s halo. These were priced at $33.
Selling out quick, the sale prompted a lot of speculation: Could it actually be a real Halo Polecat? Maybe it’s a DX Polecat paired with a Halo?
It was real. And there were only 100 available. Watch an unboxing here.
Real Winner of April Fools: The lucky bastards who snagged one. Those things could reach 2015 Sexybird collectible status.
2️⃣ Gannon Buhr doesn’t align with popular teaching methods. Most believe you should focus on footwork when starting out.
Only at 16 years old, Buhr throws a country mile and can teach you something. He believes beginners should focus on the arm and getting the disc into the power pocket.
On his new YouTube channel, Buhr demonstrates how bad footwork can still get 400ft+. But take it with a grain of salt, you still need the lower body to get into the power pocket… See him rip it with 2 left feet here.
